"When fighting something as devastating as cancer it is necessary for us to put our efforts together in order to have a more powerful impact. Learning about how two kids came up with The Race because they wanted to help a loved one and to raise funds and awareness for breast cancer. I began to think about why I started investing in raising funds and awareness for lung cancer when my grandmother was diagnosed with lung cancer in 2007. Although the types of cancer may be different the team we are on remains the same. I couldn’t imagine being anywhere else on Mother’s Day besides Legacy Village at The Race, by mother’s side as we honor Amy Green and her on-going battle, my grandmothers memory, and the many other families affected by cancer."
